The Physics Department at Foothill College enjoys putting on the show each year for our community. We thank you for helping to make the show such a huge success. In our first year, 2007, about 200 people saw our show. Thanks to your "word-of-mouth" advertising, over 25,000 people attend annually. Frank Cascarano
Frank Cascarano
Frank Cascarano earned his bachelor's degree in physics at UC Davis, as well as a master's degree in physics at UC San Diego. Frank has been teaching at Foothill College since 2003. Prior to that, he worked for ten years as a Process Engineer and Manager in the semiconductor industry. Process Engineers optimize chemical reactions that are used in manufacturing computer chips. When he isn't teaching, Frank enjoys cooking, beermaking, woodworking, and home improvement projects.

David Marasco
David Marasco
David Marasco earned undergraduate degrees in physics and philosophy at UC San Diego and did his graduate work at Northwestern University. For his doctoral thesis he used thin-film x-ray standing waves to probe ferroelectric materials and related surface structures. His research was performed at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab and at the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Lab.
David is deeply involved in the American Association of Physics Teachers, both at the local and national levels. At various times has served as the President, Section Rep, and Program chair for the Northern California/Nevada chapter, and has chaired multiple committees and task forces for AAPT. He has served on the Board of Directors as the Two Year College Representative. He was named as a Fellow of AAPT in 2021.
David flew on NASA's SOFIA aircraft, a 747 equipped with a large infrared telescope, in both Cycle 3 and Cycle 9 of their program. In his spare time, David has donated blood over 200 times. His friends tell him he needs better hobbies.
